Real wood floors from a crew that started in carpentry, not sales
Before Providence Flooring existed, owner Ryan Soldano spent years doing finish carpentry, remodels, and repair work across Atlantic and Cape May Counties. Hardwood floors sit right at the intersection of carpentry and flooring, which is why it's one of the categories he's most particular about getting right.
We supply and install both solid hardwood and engineered hardwood from major mills, and because there's no showroom overhead to cover, the price you're quoted in your living room is the price on the invoice.
Solid or engineered - it depends on your subfloor and your zip code
Both are genuine hardwood. The difference is construction, and near the water that difference matters more than most homeowners expect.

Red and white oak cover most of what we install - tough, easy to stain, and forgiving of everyday wear. Hickory is harder still and holds up well in active households, while walnut and maple give you a different look on either end of the color spectrum.
We bring actual sample boards to your home rather than asking you to pick a stain off a screen, because the same color reads completely differently under shore-town natural light than it does under a showroom's fluorescents.
Installation, and what to do with stairs
We handle moisture testing, subfloor leveling, and full removal of your old flooring as part of every job. If your project includes a staircase, we treat hardwood stairs as its own scope of work with its own nosing and tread details, quoted separately so nothing gets rushed.

Hardwood Flooring - frequently asked questions
It can, with the right construction. Engineered hardwood tolerates humidity swings much better than solid wood, which is why we recommend it more often in homes near the barrier islands.
Most whole-home jobs run 2 to 4 days depending on square footage and whether we're working around existing trim.
We bring sample boards in your species and stain so we can get within a shade of your existing floor. Board width and cut matter just as much as color on additions - something we walk through during your free estimate.
Engineered hardwood can, and holds up well there. We generally don't recommend solid hardwood right next to a sink or dishwasher, no matter how good the finish is.
